HISTORY OF BRÜCKENGASSE 1

1358 was in an old testament of the Limburg aldermen Werner Senger a bathing room, also called "cold bath",
mentioned on the Limburg city wall. This was onthe area of today's parking lot.

1662 the area was transformed into a garden.

1696 was the " New brewery "settled.

1739 Ms. Faber, the widow of the post keeper from Dietkirchen at the time, built the "Nassauer Hof" hotel on the site of today's hotel Princely Thurn and Taxis post office.
This also included a wash house opposite in Brückengasse 2 and a barn in Brückenvorstadt.

1781 acquired the administrator Eberhard Massing the two plots.

1801 the restaurateur took over Jacob Arnold the property and built the original hotel on it with the name " Weilburger Hof "which later in" Nassauer Hof "was renamed.

1813 the famous field marshal stayed the night Blucher at the hotel.

1814 was Prince Emil of Hesse Guest in the hotel.

March 25, 1945 the old building was completely destroyed by American troops.

1990/91 became today's hotel Nassauer Hof rebuilt by the Collée family according to the original construction plans.
